A Portage County jury found a 19-year-old Akron man guilty this week in the shooting death of a Kent State student during an off-campus robbery in February.

Damantae Graham is one of three teens charged in the shooting death of 18-year-old Nick Massa during a robbery at a Kent apartment on Super Bowl Sunday.

The jury found Graham guilty of all of the charges against him: aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and kidnapping. Graham will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday by Portage County Common Pleas Judge Laurie Pittman.

Marquis Greer and Ty Kremling, both 17, are being tried as adults for Massa’s death. Greer, of Massillon, and Kremling, of Stow, face the same charges as Graham. Both have trials scheduled for Nov. 22 before Pittman.

Massa, who was from Westlake but lived on the Kent State campus, was visiting friends at an off-campus apartment complex on East Main Street in Kent when three young men came to the apartment at about 4:15 p.m. and demanded money, a 911 caller reported.

Massa challenged the robbers when they said they would shoot if the people in the apartment did not cooperate, and one of the robbers fired at him. Massa died of his wounds while the three young men fled. One of the apartment’s occupants identified Kremling as the shooter.
