A Taco Bell employee avoided violence and staved off a robbery Saturday morning by fleeing into the Akron store when she was held at gunpoint at a drive-thru window.
The employee said a customer pointed a handgun at her and demanded money when he approached the window at about 2:30 a.m. She responded by closing the window and running from the drive-thru area. The suspect then fled, driving west from the South Arlington Street store in Akron onto Jonathan Avenue.
The would-be robber drove a silver Mercury Mountaineer SUV. He’s described as a black man, age 20 to 26, weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He had a goatee and wore a black T-shirt and winter hat.
