A 24-year-old East Akron man has been charged with fatally stabbing his grandmother.

Police reported that Nathan C. Huff told dispatchers shortly after 10 p.m. Friday that he went to his grandmother’s home and found her dead on the living room floor. Police who responded found the woman, Lena M. Cline, 70, with multiple stab wounds to her chest.

After an interview with detectives, police said Huff confessed to killing Cline. He’s charged with murder and has been booked into the Summit County Jail. He’s being held on $1.5 million bond.

According to court records, this isn’t Huff’s first encounter with police. He’s faced charges his entire adult life including domestic violence, assault, misrepresenting his identity, possessing drug paraphernalia, illegally manufacturing drugs, obstructing official business, driving while intoxicated and safe-cracking.
