What went right: This is called digging deep for a bright spot. Rookie Derrick Kindred started at strong safety instead of Ibraheim Campbell and finished with six tackles and two passes defensed. He broke up a third-down pass in the back of the end zone to tight end Ladarius Green, and the Steelers settled for a 22-yard field goal late in the third quarter. ProFootballFocus.com gave him the highest grade among Browns defenders.

What went wrong: Penalties called against the Browns gave the Steelers two extra plays on untimed downs at the end of the first half, and running back Le’Veon Bell ultimately capitalized with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. It was the only touchdown scored by the Steelers offense. On the other side of the ball, the Browns allowed their quarterbacks to be pulverized, and rookie Cody Kessler was knocked out of the game with a concussion.

The bottom line: The Browns have reached a new low. With an all-time record of 461-462-10, they’re below .500 in NFL regular-season games for the first time in team history.
