COVENTRY TWP.: An 18-year-old is accused of raping three of his underage relatives.
The teen, whom the Beacon Journal isn’t naming to protect the identity of the victims, was charged Wednesday with three counts of rape and is being held at the Summit County Jail. The victims are 5-year-old and 8-year-old boys, and a 6-year-old girl.
The teen charged is their half-brother.
Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said it received information last month about children being sexually abused at a Coventry residence. Authorities, including Children’s Services, found nine children living at the home. The children were removed “due to deplorable living conditions, hoarding, mental health concerns, multiple reports of sex offenses, abuse allegations and neglect complaints,” authorities said.
