The Ohio Department of Transportation will close some ramps and lanes to make pavement repairs over the next three weekends on Interstate 77 in Akron starting this weekend.
The following closures will be in place from 7 p.m. Fridays to 6 a.m. Mondays, weather permitting :
• I-77 northbound between Interstate 76/Kenmore Leg to just north of state Route 261/Vernon Odom Boulevard will be reduced to one lane.
• The ramp from Interstate 277/U.S. Route 224 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg will be closed. The detour will involve I-76 westbound to state Route 21 northbound to I-77.
• The ramp from I-76 eastbound/Kenmore Leg to I-77 northbound will be closed. The detour will be I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound to I-277/U.S. Route 224 westbound to I-76 westbound to Route 21 northbound.
The work is the beginning of a $2.2 million project to make concrete pavement repairs on the highways. The project is scheduled to be completed by August.
