A father accidentally shot his 6-year-old son in the leg early Tuesday morning, Akron police say.
The boy was treated at an area hospital for a minor injury, as the bullet grazed his leg.
Authorities responded to the 700 block of Alicia Walk in the city’s East Akron neighborhood at 12:30 a.m. for a call about a shooting.
The parents denied any knowledge at first about how the boy was shot, but the 38-year-old father later admitted that he had the gun and it accidentally went off.
Authorities are investigating to see if charges will be filed.
